HOME AGAIN, HOME AGAIN …

Jiggedy-jig.

It’s extraordinary to have a second home in the world. And even better to have a third (Isla Mujeres), and a fourth (Vashon Island) …

But Marazion is exactly that—a place where I feel unquestionably welcome. Here, the clamor of life seems to decrescendo; people radiate a placid kindness. History vibrates in every flagstone. Not to mention, the legendary Coastal Path, which winds through the heart of the town, and routes a steady current of walkers past the front windows of shops and houses, alike.

Over the past three years, I’ve made wonderful memories in this tiny town whose motto is: Semper eadem or, “Always the same.” A hilariously ironic notion in the life of someone who thrives in a state of constant change. But somehow, Marazion has become a sacred still point, a place where peace is effortlessly found and made. And a touchstone, to which I will reliably return.

✨ TIPS: Visit The Copper Spoon. Charlotte and Liz make some of the best pastries in Cornwall along with delicious coffee drinks. Also unmissable: cocktails or afternoon tea at the Godolphin, a stroll across the causeway to St. Michael’s Mount, a pint in at the Admiral Benbow in nearby Penzance, and a meal at Perranuthnoe’s Victoria Inn.
