CONIMBRIGA
When you visit first century Roman ruins with a yogi, backbends happen …
Conimbriga is living history with roots as early as 9th century BC. The settlement peaked as a metropolis of 10,000 inhabitants in 1st Century AD. We were blown away by the stunning details still visible today—from the footprints of Roman baths, a forum, aqueduct, noble houses and tenements, down to the intricate mosaic tile designs on the floors. Amazing.
The ruins are a beautiful, easy day trip from the nearby town of Coimbra. Only a €5 entrance fee and 15-minute taxi ride from the city center.
