LIMAHULI GARDEN
Limahuli Garden is the lush site of one of the first settlements in Hawai’i ... Polynesians from the Marquesas arrived here in 200 A.D. in voyaging canoes—carved, wooden boats that were essentially tiny arks of livestock and plants carrying taro, agave, sweet potato, turmeric, banana, coconut, awapuhi (shampoo ginger), and kava. Thanks to these botanical “toolkits”, they thrived in their new home. 🌸 🌱
