The España Square was built for the Spanish-American Exhibition of 1929, amongst many other buildings. It represents the so-called regionalist architecture and stands out because of the skilful combination of a brick structure, tiles and many different polychrome ceramic decorations. The square's main attractions are its semicircular lake, its twin towers, the benches that depict 49 provinces of Spain in ceramic tiles, and the beautiful coffered ceiling in the building.

Just across from the Cathedral is the Real Alcázar which is also a must-see in Seville. However, it's possible that there will be long queues so I would advise going earlier in the day so you can enter quickly and enjoy the beautiful interior. There you will find a beautiful Mudejar palatial complex surrounded by beautiful gardens, all of which were also declared a World Heritage Site.

Located in the Plaza del Triunfo, the Catedral de Sevilla is a Christian Gothic cathedral and the third largest in the world. Due to its beauty and patrimonial value it was declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco in 1987. Next to it, is the Giralda, the bell tower of the Cathedral, which is 104m high, recognized throughout the world as one of the most emblematic symbols of the city. It is definitely worth taking a look inside too as the attention to detail is truly incredible and the view of the city from the Giralda is a good one for the photo collection!

The Archive of the Indies is a Renaissance building listed as World Heritage site, displaying documents on the Spanish Empire. This is the place, where, among many documents, the Columbus letters are kept. Entrance is free and you just need 15 to 20 minutes. Not many tourists find there way there, so it is rather quiet. Beautiful staircase, wooden ceilings, paintings, and more.

Emblematic shopping street of Seville with a great atmosphere in the historic center. Full of fun shops, bars, and restaurants where you can browse, hang out or enjoy a refreshing drink or bite. Large portions of the streets are shaded by cloth “sails”, hung overhead. The air conditioning from the stores also blasts out into the streets, making it a nice place to stroll if you happen to be out during the heat of the day … The street takes you directly to the new square of the town hall and then Avenida de la Constitución, where you reach the cathedral. Very nice walk.

Come and discover the palace’s amazing artworks, from ancient Greece and Rome to Sorolla. Lebrija Palace is fast becoming one of Seville’s best palace houses to visit. Not only does it have some stunning mosaics, but its rooms also contain numerous archaeological remains of incalculable value: vases, amphorae, columns, vessels, and sculptures. The building is also bedecked with ornamental features like Arab-style arches, plateresque wall decorations, and a typically Andalusian facade and layout. The Marquess of Lozoya, Director General of Fine Arts, described it as “the best paved palace in Europe”. Indeed, the 580 square metres of Roman mosaics covering the palace’s walls and floors make it the world’s most important private collection of its type.

In the 16th century, Seville was the most important city in Europe. The wealth of the New World arrived at its port, which was later distributed throughout the continent. Here the gold and silver of America was minted. They called it Nova Roma, because of its splendor, and the best Italian and Flemish artists of the day went there. The best Renaissance was combined with the Gothic and the Mudejar in a unique harmony of styles in the world.
In this context, the Casa de Salinas was built.
Located in the monumental area of the Old Town of Seville, a stone's throw from the cathedral, La Giralda and Los reales Alcázares, this house shared with other mansions a neighborhood of illustrious and wealthy people. Baltasar Jaén, the first owner of the house and founder of his own estate, belonged to one of these lineages.
At the beginning of the 20th century, the house became the property of the Salinas family, who subjected it to a delicate and meticulous restoration process to return it to its original appearance, which had been partly altered with interventions carried out throughout its four hundred years of existence. history, and especially around 1900. Currently, it shows off its primitive 16th century structures with elements typical of the time of its construction, aesthetically harmonized as reflected in its warm and comfortable interiors.

Built between the 15th and 16th centuries, Las Dueñas was named after the currently dissapeared monastery of Santa María de las Dueñas, placed in the adjoining plot and demolished in 1868. Its Origin was the Place-house of the Pineda, lords of Casa Bermeja, one of the dynasties of the patricians of Sevilla. In the following decades, the Palace was inherited by Fernando Enríquez de Ribera, II marquis of Villanueva del Río. His daugther, Antonia Enríquez de Ribera, got married in 1612 with Fernando Álvarez de Toledo, future Duke of Alba. Since then, Las Dueñas belongs to Casa de Alba.
In the XIX Century, Dueñas became a guesthouse, dividing its rooms and halls with walls and covering the coffered ceiling. One of the guest, and property administrator of Las Dueñas, was Antonio Machado Álvarez father of the famous poet Antonio Machado, who was born in Las Dueñas in 1875. Machado remembers in the following verses the eight years of his childhood, when he lived in Las Dueñas:

Discover the Museum of Flamenco Dance, conceived by Cristina Hoyos, the most awarded bailaora and choreographer in history.
The Flamenco Dance Museum is located in an 18th century building on the ruins of a Roman temple, where Roman and pre-Roman stones in its vault embellish one of the most authentic settings in Seville, right in the historic center: the Barrio de Santa Cruz , old Sevillian Jewish quarter.
Tradition meets the avant-garde in the interactive rooms where flamenco styles are discovered, its evolution from its roots to the present, the mythical costumes of the most important dancers, unique pieces of flamenco, all through the highest technology, in the languages: Spanish, English, French, German, Chinese and Japanese.
You cannot miss in Room 5 of the museum an immense semicircular screen that immerses visitors in a choreography.
On the second floor you can enjoy temporary exhibitions, both of painting and other artistic disciplines, by artists from all over the world: Spain, France, the US, Germany, Poland, Israel, Korea and China, among others.
Visits to the museum can be made every day, at any time, from 11:00 to 18:00 (last entrance at 18:00). *Attention, on the first Monday of the month the museum will open its doors at 16:00.
Flamenco dancing like you've never seen it before, in the heart of Seville!
Tip: Our store is part of the museum and surprises visitors with products from 100% Andalusian artists and artisans.

Outer defensive tower built around 1220, with multiple theories as to the origins of its name. The Torre del Oro Naval Museum is a defensive tower dating from the 13th century, from which a thick chain extended to the far bank of the river, cutting off access to enemy ships.
The tower is 36 metres high and stands on the left bank of the Guadalquivir River. It has three sections, the first two of which are dodecagonal: the first of these was built by the Almohads, while the second was built by Pedro I, "the Cruel". The third section is cylindrical and topped with a dome. This dates from the 18th century. The tower defended the river entrance to the Barcas bridge and land access to the Arenal, home of industrial activity. The tower was linked to the Torre de la Plata through sections of wall known as “coracha”, which also stretched to Seville's Alcazar.
The Torre del Oro now houses a small but interesting naval museum. The museum has two floors of exhibits and a panoramic terrace. Prior to being converted into a museum, the monument was used as a chapel, a prison for noblemen, a gunpowder store, and the offices of the Port authorities and the Naval Command.
Along with the Giralda, it is one of the most representative symbols of Seville. It was designated a historic-artistic monument in 1931.

15th century Gothic convent, the nuns sell delicious cakes and jams … Seville has, in its cloistered monasteries and convents, a rich heritage of culture, art and little-known history. Among these Monasteries, that of Santa Paula, of the Jerónimas Nuns, is one of the most representative and one of the most accessible because the nuns have a Permanent Art Collection that can be visited, and from which part of the cloisters can be seen.
What is the vocation? The Hieronymite contemplative nun witnesses the presence of Jesus in the world, assumes her life to the saving mystery of Christ and consecrates herself to him throughout different stages throughout her life.
In the monastery of Santa Paula we make the artisan jams following a traditional process. We use natural ingredients of the best quality, which allows us to achieve an authentic flavor. Sometimes we use the fruits of the monastery, such as oranges or lemons. In other cases we use selected suppliers, who provide us with the ingredients. With them we achieve an exquisite texture and flavor. Enjoy some homemade jams prepared in a totally handmade way.

This small church is covered in gold plated ceilings and walls, with beautiful statues of the Virgin Mary and the ceilings … breathtaking! Worth a visit. The Basicila de Macarena houses one of the dearest treasures of Seville, the statue of la Virgen de la Esperanza (the Virgin of Hope), known as la Macarena, the same name as the quarter where the church is located. The statue is a 17th-century wooden sculpture of Christ's mother mourning his death, covered in tears. The Triana Ceramic Center is a museum in an old factory preserving local history by exhibiting hand-painted tile, pottery & kilns …
All the elements with archaeological, anthropological and architectural significance are shown in their original context: the ovens have been restored and enhanced, and the routes and relationships of the different professions that were combined in the same location are preserved.
The architectural proposal is organized from the enhancement of the set, as well as others of undoubted spatial, ethnological and anthropological value.
The center has two floors: the ground floor, which shows a permanent exhibition and visit the remains put in value for the interpretation of the Sevillian ceramics; and the upper floor, specialized documentation center, as well as a space for the interpretation and guidance of tourist routes in the neighborhood of Triana.
The Ceramics Centre of Triana (CCT) is the materialisation of a municipal project designed to preserve the memory of one of the last ceramic factories that in operation in Seville until very recently.
The old Cerámica Santa Ana factory has undergone a thorough restoration process, preserving many traditional elements of the factory and creating new spaces where different activities take place: tours to the old facilities, the permanent collection of ceramics, temporary exhibitions, etc., as well as some craft workshops to reactivate the Triana pottery tradition.
The Centre consists of two floors. On the ground floor there are several historical kilns (some from the 16th century), the water well, the clay deposits, the mineral mills, the almagenas or containers for storing the prepared pigments, the potter's wheel, the tables for airing pieces and drying moulds or the board where the painters decorated the large panels of tiles.
The upper floor combines several areas with different functions: tourist point, assembly hall, information centres about the Triana district, temporary exhibition hall and permanent exhibition rooms. The latter is made up of municipal pieces that were deposited in some of the town museums, completed with works requested on loan from other owners.

Triana is one of the oldest neighborhoods in the city, once occupied by sailors but today known for being the heart of flamenco. Here dancing, singing, and good food are common place and therefore you must be sure to take advantage of seeing a flamenco show in one of the "tablaos" in Triana.
With a design inspired by the Seville of 1929, state-of-the-art technical equipment and a capacity of 100 seats, the theater offers a continuous program of shows, seven days a week, by prestigious current flamenco figures. The artists are prestigious current flamenco figures, which is both a vindication of the mastery of established artists from different generations and the gateway to the stage for new talents emerging from the Cristina Heeren Foundation's flamenco school . Creator of this stage space, its international flamenco school, with more than 20 years of history, is considered the best study center in the world in its specialty, according to Lonely Planet, and is recognized by the Ministry of Culture, the Board of Andalusia and the Chair of Flamencology of Jerez.

Tasty Ice cream, granitas, horchatas ... Finding this ice cream parlor open in the middle of the afternoon when everything is closed in Seville in the middle of a heat wave is like finding an oasis in the desert, and in that oasis we found friendly people who have treated us very kindly, even helping us with typical tourist questions. Excellent ice cream!

Modern restaurant serving typical Andalusian cuisine., excellent service, slightly decentralized location with respect to the "tourist" areas of Seville. Raw materials of the highest level, local wines included. Grass-feed meat "retinta" (free grazing) of unique goodness and tenderness. Very fresh fish and skillful cuisine that combines elements of Arab tradition and Spanish tradition in a mix of truly surprising, unique and very pleasant flavors …

A great menu del dia! Very friendly staff. A wonderful variety of different tapas. Inexpensive and extremely tasty. (And also, clean toilets). The pig cheek is so delish. Sangria is 👌. Also tried the pork steak with Roquefort sauce and the Russian tuna salad. Prices are good and service is great!
