ASINARA ISLAND: PART I
We took one of the greatest day trips of all time to Asinara, an island off the northwest corner of Sardinia.

Asinara is as fascinating as it is visually stunning. From Neolithic times forward, it has been the stomping ground of Spaniards, Moors, and Ottomans, as well as a refuge for Camodolese monks. It has served as an agricultural work camp, leper colony, and maximum security prison.
